56 th NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CLEBRATIONS (November 19 thto November 25th, 2017)

National Pharmacy Week Celebrations 2017 at Grace College of Pharmacy commenced on
November 19 th, 2017.The theme selected for this year was “Know your medicines: Ask your
pharmacist”.
A blood donation camp Conducted on 22-11- 17at grace college as a part of National Pharmacy
Week celebration and was organized National Service Scheme (UnitMP011-I) students with the
help of District Hospital, Palakkad. The event was inaugurated by Prof.Dr.Y.Haribabu.,
Principal. During his inaugural address, he enlightened the students on the importance of blood
donation and how by donating blood periodically you can save the lives of people. The
programme fascinated the students on the need of blood donation and students along with staff
actively participated in the event. About 46 unit blood was collected during the event and it was
donated to Government District Hospital, Palakkad.
The Inaugural function was conducted on 23-11- 17 at college auditorium. Inaugural address was
given by Dr.Y. Haribabu, Principal. He spoke about the theme of the celebration and the need to
spread awareness about role of pharmacist in responsible use of medicines. Presidential Address
was given by Dr. C.I.Sajeeth, Vice Principal, He emphasized the importance of pharmacist in
controlling adverse drug reactions. Dr.R.Sivakumar, HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, given
facilitation speech. He spoke all dosage forms and all system of our body how to react the drug
actions. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.L.Basker, HOD, and Dept. of Pharm.Chemistry, The
inauguration ceremony ended with national anthem.
Many competitions are organized as a part of National Pharmacy Week celebrations like Pharma
Quiz, Elocution, Seminars and e-Poster and Oral Poster presentation, Debate competition based
on the NPW-2017 theme, and the NPW celebrations were concluded by Prize distribution and
Cultural program. All students and staff member actively participated in the program and was a
grand success.
