                      A Breast Cancer awareness camp was organized by Department of Pharmacy Practice, Grace College of Pharmacy, Palakkad at Primary Health Center, Nallepilly on 25/01/19 from 10am to 1pm. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Ramitha, Medical superintendent of PHC, Nallepilly. The aim of this awareness camp was to generate awareness among the public regarding the cause, signs and symptoms and early detection of breast cancer.

                          People in and around Nallepilly actively participated in the event. Approximately 70 people were counselled by the students and also 20 houses were covered as a part of field work. The main focus on the counselling was to help them to identify the symptoms of breast cancer at the earliest stage and also to equip themselves for self-detection. Patient Information Leaflets providing the details on the disease, signs and symptoms, self detection methods prepared by the department were provided to the general public. Separate classes were conducted for ASHA workers by the aid of leaflets and power point presentations.
