TWO DAYS NATIONAL LEVEL WORKSHOP ON MOLECULAR DOCKING & DRUG DISCOVERY TECHNOLOGY (MDDDT - 2019)

Sajeeth, Vice Principal, Grace College of Pharmacy Coordinator in Chief : Prof. Dr. Baskar L Around 65 delegates including faculties and Post graduate students from different colleges and universities of Kerala & Tamilnadu from pharmacy as well as veterinary science curriculum were registered to this two days National Level Workshop on Molecular Docking & Drug Discovery Technology (MDDDT - 2019) which was organized by Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry, Grace college of Pharmacy. The programme was inaugurated by our chief guest Mr. Nishith M. C., Drugs Inspector, Palakkad with our Patron Janab P. P. Unneen Kutti Moulavi, Resource Person of this workshop Dr Shahul Hameed, Convener Dr. Y. Haribabu and the organizing Secretary Dr. C. I Sajeeth, which was held on 27 th morning 9: 30 am. The inaugural programme initiated with our organizing Secretary Dr. C. I Sajeeth who had welcome the gatherings with a bockette which was followed with the presidential address speech of our Patron JANAB P.P UNNEEN KUTTY MOULAVI then the programme went with the key note address delivered by the convener Dr. Y. HARIBABU to the delegates. Then the programme was highlighted with inaugural address of the chief guest Mr. NISHITH M. C., Drugs Inspector of Palakkad district. Finally the workshop resource person, Dr. SHAHUL HAMEED principal scientist and technical head at Wise Corner laboratory pvt ltd, Chennai who delivered the significance of the two days? workshop with the scientific note of Receptors and drugs molecules. The inaugural programme ends with the vote of thanks by Dr Baskar L., Chief Coordinator and with the National anthem. Then the plenary session started with the resource person, Dr. SHAHUL HAMEED who had addressed with the topic of structure based drug design and ligand based drug design followed by hands on training with the software AUTODOCK v4.2.6 & VMD (Visual Molecular Discovery) installation to the individual laptops of the delegates. In this two days workshop the various topics covered viz., ? Ligand Databases & Generation of 3D structure of Ligands ? Protein Databases & Protein Homology Modelling ? Ligand Binding Site Prediction ? Molecular Docking ? Conformations and Validation ? ADMET prediction. ? Small Molecule Docking using Autodock v4.2.6 ? Binding free energy computation. ? Flexible docking using Autodock v4.2.6 ? Analysis of Docked Molecular modeling and Drug Designing Significant Outcome of the Workshop The Delegates (Faculties & Post graduate students) in and around Kerala and Tamilnadu were enthusiastically participated and acquire a handsome and skillful knowledge on this two days National Level Workshop on Molecular Docking & Drug Discovery Technology (MDDDT - 2019). Moreover during the workshop the delegates who had trained well with the personnel laptops with the individual attention of our resource person. As part of the any programme the delegates arose with many doubts which has been clarified and cleared then and there with our resource person Dr. Shahul hameed. E-Poster Presentation On the other hand the E-Poster Presentation was being held with the seventeen registered participants focusing only in the pharmaceutical chemistry background and medicinal chemistry field. The E-Poster presentation were appreciated and rewarded with a certificate and a trophy to the Toppers of the e-poster which has been scrutinized with the expert committee and felicited with the other participants in the valedictory ceremony by the programme convener Dr. Y. Haribabu, Grace college of Pharmacy. The two days? workshop successfully completed by September 28 th 2019 at 4.30 pm as stipulated earlier with the national anthem.
