61st NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATION

National Pharmacy Week was observed from November 21–26, 2022, by Grace College of Pharmacy in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacy Graduate’s Association. The major focus of NPW celebrations is to create the awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers and the authorities, about the NPW theme in specific and about the pharmacy profession and role of the pharmacist in general. The theme selected for this year “Pharmacy of the world: India”.

The opening of the 61st National Pharmacy Week was held in the Grace Auditorium at 10.30 am. A prayer hymn was played before Dr. Khairunsha, associate professor in the department of pharmacology at Grace College of Pharmacy, welcomed everyone. The president's speech was given by Prof. Dr. Y. Haribabu, Principal of Grace College of Pharmacy. The relevance of the pharmacist in the healthcare theme was headline in his presidential address. Sri. P. K. Sathish, Circle Inspector of Excise, Palakkad, delivered a detailed seminar on Drug Addiction and its consequences following that the Anti - drug campaign was felicitated by Sri. Sivakumar P. I, Beat officer, Palakkad Town North Police Station and Sri Mohammed Latheef, Beat Officer, Palakkad Town North Police station.

Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Vice Principal of Grace College of Pharmacy, added a honor to the chief guest and his team for their valuable address on Drug Abuse Campaign with a memento to Sri. Sathish P. K, Circle Inspector of Excise, Palakkad & the Beat officers Sri. Sivakumar P. I and Sri Mohammed Latheef..

In conjunction with this National pharmacy week celebration the  a blood donation drive was held on 11th November, by the doctors of District Hospital, Palakkad,. The faculties and students enthusiastically participated wholeheartedly in the blood donation drive, which was directed by Mr. M. Krishnapillai, associate professor and NSS Program officer of Grace College of Pharmacy.

In addition to this, all the aforementioned NPW competitions, including a Pharma Quiz, Elocution Contest, Seminars, Live Patient Counseling, and Poster making Contest were held up at various intervals. The Chief Guest Sri. P. K. Sathish, Circle Inspector of Excise, Palakkad, presented the winners and runners with certificates, as well as the winner's and runners' trophies, on this momentous occasion.
